Trip
Description: This year's Thanksgiving trip will be to the East Texas to visit Lake Bob Sandlin State Park. The Park offers a a large lake, tent and RV sites and a lot of hiking trails. It is also closer to Dallas, so the drive will be much shorter than some of our recent Thanksgiving trips. We will have our Thanksgiving Potluck on Saturday evening. The Club provides a Cajun Turkey fried in a no oil fryer (healthier), you provide your favorite side or dessert. Park Reservations: Park Reservations should be made early, especially if you want an RV site. They also have Screen Shelters and Tent sites, but I would be proactive and reserve one soon. Directions: The park is located about 12 miles southwest of Mount Pleasant on FM 21. Exit Interstate 30 on Highway 37 South at Mount Vernon. Go 0.8 miles; turn left on Highway 21 and go 11.2 miles to the park entrance. Park
